Wedding Venue – Madison, WI

For over 160 years couples have been tying the knot in our elegant and historic church.  Located in Middleton, we are a wedding venue in the Madison area that is close to the best that the area has to offer for reception sites, restaurants, and hotels.  You will find our church a quaint and romantic place for the wedding of your dreams.  

Our wedding venue can accommodate up to 250 people.

We are open for public rental for wedding ceremonies of all denominations every day of the week. 

True to its historic nature as a little country church, we have no heating or air conditioning, so wedding ceremonies are held from May-October.  During the warmer months, we have several large floor fans for your use, and you can open the windows for a breeze. 

A piano is available for your use. You may also bring your own wedding musicians.

Please note that we do not have any bathroom facilities or dressing room for the bride. 

If you do not have an officiant in mind, we can provide you with a list of officiants who have performed weddings here in the past.

The fee to rent the church as a wedding venue is $300.  If your wedding is cancelled, $150 will be returned to you.

At the time when you pick up the key, a $300 security deposit is also due. The security deposit check will not be cashed unless the church is damaged during your wedding. The church will be inspected immediately after your wedding to check for damage, and you will be notified if damage is found.

Parking

Wedding parking is available on both sides of Pleasant View Rd.  Some wedding couples rent a bus or trolley to transport their guests.    

Restrooms

The church does not have any restroom facilities.  Wedding couples sometimes rent portable restrooms for their guests.  Please ask us about this when you reserve the church.

 

 

Accessibility

First Lutheran Church is wheelchair accessible for weddings via a ramp.

Fees

First Lutheran Church is a Historic Landmark, but receives no financial support other than wedding ceremony rentals, donations, and sales of burial plots.  The cost to rent the church as a wedding venue is $300.00.  If you wedding  ceremony is cancelled, $150 will be refunded to you.
