The board of trustees is excited to announce that we have completed one of our major restoration goals: restoration of the original limestone foundation of the church.  The foundation, which dates back to 1866, was crumbling and missing areas of mortar, allowing water and pests into the structure.

Wes Masonry, of Middleton, was hired to restore the foundation between scheduled weddings over the summer. First, they removed the cement that was covering the beautiful old stonework. Then, they removed the stones one by one and cleaned out the old mortar between them. Finally, they replaced the original stones and re-mortared them into place. We are thrilled with the way the foundation looks in it’s restored state, and are hopeful that it will support the church for another 149 years!

If you donated toward the restoration efforts, THANK YOU!  This work was entirely paid for by donations from YOU.
